Special thanks to Amy Hicks, the manager at the Social Circle Library. Just as Glinda, the good witch, magically guided Dorothy on her quest, I was guided by Amy to the utterly fantastic book. When they say this is a page turner, I opted to forgo 2 meals to finish this book. If it was longer, I would’ve given up sleep as well. Beautiful and haunting, thought provoking and jarring, Drake had to have been pulling from personal experience when penning this novel. Dealing with addiction, creative stumps, familial depression, and the overall changes that all teenagers go through, this novel takes you on a wild ride through it all, with a journey that shows that even though life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, you have to appreciate the ride and all of the amazing adventures that come with it!
