I own a DVD of the 2005 film "Sahara", based on the 1992 Clive Cussler book of the same title, and had been wanting to read the book. True-to-form, the book is filled with much more story than a 90min film could possibly hold and I wasn't disappointed! The characters were well fleshed-out and I loved the banter between the two main character friends. I especially loved that Clive Cussler wrote -himself- into his book as an American prospector named Clive Cussler wandering the Sahara with his American donkey, looking for a lost treasure ship. In addition, there is a vehicle in the story whose description matches a photo on the back book-jacket with the author and I suspect it is his own classic Avions Voisin. I greatly enjoy these touches from reality. This book contained several sub-stories within it and I found it interesting to see the author connect them all. Great action and suspense. A true adventure novel to the very end! I would happily recommend this author and his adventure books.
