Miss Nelson is Missing by Harry Allard
Just to start, this book is available on eREAD KIDS for audiobook checkout. This is one of my favorite books to read growing up. The book is all about how you should appreciate what you have because, in reality, things could be much, much worse. The story revolves around a classroom who's students are very disrespectful to their teacher and when the teacher goes "missing" a mean substitute takes her place. In the end, the students learn to be appreciative of the teacher that they have versus what they could have. It's one of my favorite stories and I always recommend this for storytime or just to read. -AH
How to Catch a Mermaid by Adam Wallace
Just to start, this book is available on eREAD KIDS for ebook checkout. This is a super cute book all about how a girl wants to catch a mermaid. Said this is an a lesson typically taught in school so, her friend, dog, and herself create different traps to capture the mermaid. In the end, while they do not capture the mermaid, they are rescued by her and become friends with her. I think it's a cute book with cute illustrations. -AH
Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stringiest
Just to start, this book is available on eREAD KIDS for ebook checkout. This is one of the cutest books I've read in a while. It is all about storytime being interrupted with the chicken's own personal thoughts on the stories. For example in Hansel and Gretel, the Young chicken decide said he's gonna warn the children of the witch so that all is good and nobody gets eaten. I think it's just a cute book especially for those kids that just love to interrupt during storytime. -AH
