Complex, poised, dark, and beautiful, my 4 favorites when reading something from a new author. Jin offers a beautifully spun story, interweaving relationships across decades, each leading a young woman through her journey to find her father. Jin gives us a peek into what life was like in Beijing, China during its chaotic shift in political climate during the late 80s. How families survived and thrived, while others were ripped viciously apart. I truly enjoyed this one. Available on RB Digital and Freading.
