"The Cardinal of the Kremlin" is about a spy in the KGB. Codename, Cardinal is a personal aide to the Soviet Minister of Defense and war hero, has been passing military, technical and political intelligence to the CIA as their highest agent in place. The novel features the Strategic Defense Initiative where Cardinal's latest mission concerns an anti-ballistic missile research project codenamed "Bright Star". Ryan and Cardinal are two men who possess vital information on Russia's Star Wars missile defense system. Will Ryan be able to save Cardinal? Will it be peace or war?
